Sherri Marie Miller (Panek), aged 56, passed away on January 9th, 2023 in Polk County, North Carolina. She was born on September 19th, 1966 in Flint Michigan to Virginia Panek. She attended Flint Public Schools and received her GED before starting a family at the age of eighteen.
She married her husband, Patrick Miller, on May 29, 1986. They were married for over 36 years until Patrick’s untimely death from pancreatic cancer on January 3rd, 2022.
Sherri was a homemaker and her true calling in life was to be a wife and mother. She successfully raised and nurtured seven children whilst providing childcare to numerous other children who considered her a second mother.
Sherri lived in Michigan most of her life before moving to Arizona in 2013 and most recently relocating to North Carolina.
Sherri enjoyed reading, artistic endeavors, true crime, hiking, swimming, and time with her dogs. She was an excellent cook and was known to share her recipes as “a pinch of this, or a handful of that,” much to her children's vexation.
She loved singing and her long time favorite musicians were Cat Stevens, Amy Grant, and Carol King.
She had an extreme gratitude for God’s creation. She loved landscapes, mountains, gems, rocks, and any lakes or streams.
Sherri was a Catholic convert but considered herself to be a follower of Christ before all else. She referred to scripture on a regular basis, prayed frequently, and would say her highest goal was to see her children in heaven.
Sherri has always been a caregiver and very lovingly provided end of life care for her husband, Patrick Miller, and mother, Virginia Panek, as they battled the end stages of cancer.
She is survived by her five (5) siblings Molly Panek, Jennifer Dover, Thomas Panek, Eric Wells, and Shane Wells; her six (6) children, Anna Miller-Jong, Sarah Davis, Megan Cabuena, Abby Miller, Mary Miller, and Lydia Miller; and her fourteen (14) grandchildren, Jeremiah Davis, Isaiah Davis, Emma Davis, Donovan Jong, Damian Jong, Dorian Jong, Felicity Cabuena, Abraham Cabuena, Lucia Cabuena, Genevieve Cabuena, Kennedy Jones, Michael Jones, Ezra Jones, and Maverick Gutierrez.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Clarence Taekens, grandmother, Jean Taekens husband, Patrick Miller, her mother, Virginia Panek and her son, Patrick Miller ll.
