.Robert Leggitte Deterly, 79, teacher and artist, passed on in the early hours of Sunday morning at White Oak Manor, Tryon.
Bob was born in New Orleans and grew up in Natchez, Mississippi.
He is survived by his wife, Marianne Turpin Deterly.
A funeral Mass will be held at St John the Baptist Catholic church in Tryon at 10:00 am on Friday, June 21st.
