Richard Frederick Eckert, Jr.

Richard Frederick Eckert Jr., age 76, of Tryon Estates in Columbus, NC passed away on February 13th.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Richard Eckert and Edna Meyer Eckert. Before relocating to Tryon Estates, he resided for 34 years in Flanders, NJ.

Rich graduated from Wagner College in Staten Island, NY with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He was a member of Delta Mu Delta National Honor Society in Business Administration. He also was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. He formerly was the Controller of an advertising agency in New Jersey.

Rich was a proud Vietnam Veteran where he served as a combat photographer. He had conservative values and was a very social person who loved to engage in conversations and activities with others. His interests included shooting, fishing, model building, reading and searching for items for his various collections.

He will be missed by his wife and best friend of 48 years, Rosemary, his sister, Nancy Pfeiffer, his nephew, Peter Kastl and his wife, Joanie.

Services will be held at a later date.
