Matthew J. Allen

Matthew J. Allen left this life on December 8th, 2022.  Matt was born on December 12th, 1970, in Royal Oak, Michigan to Jim Allen and Mary Lynn (Allen) Shindorf.  Matt was a bright light to all who knew him, and he was loved by family and friends in Michigan, Arizona, Texas and North Carolina.  Matt loved the outdoors and would frequently spend hours hiking and camping in the desert in Arizona or the hills of North Carolina.  His passion was kayaking, jet skiing, and bird watching, especially his beloved crows and raptors. Matthew was a brilliant and talented tile mason and computer technician and was always helping someone with a problem whenever help was needed. 

Matt is survived by his parents, Jim Allen and his wife Peggy Allen of Minot, ND; his mother, Mary Lynn Shindorf and her husband Tom Shindorf, of Harrison, MI; his two brothers, James C. Allen and David M. Allen and his wife Tami Allen, of Mill Spring, NC.  

Matt touched the lives of everyone he met, even strangers.  He was a kind soul with a passion for what he loved and believed in.  He will be greatly missed by many, and his gentle spirit will always be remembered. 

A Celebration of life ceremony will be held in the Spring at the family home in Mill Spring, NC.
