Marion Eugene Champion, 76, Polk County, NC, walked into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 28, 2020.
Mr. Champion was a sewing machine mechanic for over 50 years. He was a life-long member of Beulah Baptist Church where he served as a beloved deacon, Sunday School teacher, and was involved in numerous mission projects. He was also a dedicated member of the Polk County Chapter of Gideons International.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris Durham Champion; son, Robert (Melinda) Champion of Columbus; daughter, Jill (Daniel) Greene of Green Creek; five grandchildren, Justin and A.J. Champion, Morgan and Julianna Lovell, and Greyson Greene; and three siblings, Ronnie (Brenda) Champion, Diane Terceira, and Susie (John) Graves.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Irene Thompson Champion, and his brother, Burley Champion.
A private graveside service was held at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery on Sunday, August 30, 2020 with Reverend Todd Fletcher officiating.
Pallbearers were Justin Champion, AJ Champion, Matthew Champion, Michael Champion, Jack Thompson, and Robert Means.
Honorary Pallbearers were the Deacons of the church.
