Lillian Lynn Obituary

Lillian Louise Lynn, age 100, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2024, at her home in Green Creek, NC.

Born in Tularosa, New Mexico, she was the daughter of Pickett Price and Lillian Downs Lynn. She was a registered nurse having worked in both hospital and private duty settings. She was loving mother and a devoted military wife requiring her to relocate with the family many times over the span of her life. Her husband was in the US Air Force and served as a pilot in the Strategic Air Command. After WWII they were transferred to Sendai, Japan, to serve as part of the post war peacekeeping forces. After retirement she and her husband lived in Florida. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed family and friends. She was an avid reader and enjoyed creating needle point projects for the family.

She moved from Florida to Green Creek, NC in July 2022 to stay with her son, John (Ann) and she announced "this will be my final move". She has truly enjoyed living in Green Creek watching the wildlife and neighboring horses roaming the pastures.

The remaining year of her life was comfortable and enjoyable through the love and support of her son,

John, and daughter-in-law Ann and dear friends, Rhoda and Katie Mullet. The care givers at Fours Seasons Palliative and Hospice Care based in Hendersonville (including Stephanie, Beth and Heather) were amazing and supportive.

She celebrated her 100th birthday on April 6 with family and friends. She had a great time visiting with her grandchildren and enjoyed blowing out 100 candles (with a little assistance) on her cake. It was a wonderful and joyous day for her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred "Jeep" Lynn, and her son, Robert Lynn. Surviving are her son, John Lynn (Ann) of Green Creek; son-in-law, John Walls of High Springs, Florida and four grandchildren, John Michael Lynn (Ann) of Homestead, Florida; Lara House (Robert "Duffy") of

Cincinnati, Ohio; Teresa Whiteacre (Charlie) of Land O' Lakes, Florida and Heather Dominguez (Tony) of Rutherford County, NC, and seven great grandchildren and one great great grandson, Kolton.

There will be no service in North Carolina. She and her husband will be interred in the Florida National Cemetery for military veterans in Bushnell, Florida.
