Keville Ray Turner, affectionately known as Pookie, Dad, Pappy, Pap, and simply Keville, was born on September 23rd, 1937, in Floyd County, Kentucky, to Sir Belve and Audrey Marie Oney Turner. He was one of five boys, alongside Richard, George, Russell, and his twin, Neville. Keville also had two sisters, Beverly and Elizabeth.
In October 1958, Keville married the love of his life, Peggy Sue, and together they embarked on a journey of love and adventure that spanned 65 remarkable years. Their travels took them to numerous countries, where they shared their joy and faith through mission work with Campers on Mission. Notably, they spent time in Hawaii, preparing for a Pastoral and Missionary retreat. In addition to Keville’s dedication to family and faith, Keville and Peggy Sue’s explore all 50 states during their time spreading love and compassion wherever they went.
Keville was a devoted father to his four children: John Dale (Donna) Turner of Tavares, FL, Stephen Allen (Audra) Turner of Hendersonville, NC, Myra Elizabeth (Chris) Burleson of Landrum, SC, and Paul Alexander (Terah) Turner of Charleston, SC.
He was a cherished grandfather to Curtis (Emilee), Whitney (Kevin), Courtney (Derrek), Garrett, Jayson (Sara), Weston (Haley), Alissa,
Drew (Sidney), Brennan, Marissa, Hannah (Anthony), Austin (Arielle), Miranda, Paige, and Layne, and a beloved great-grandfather to Caitlyn, Bryce, Drew, Luke, Sawyer, Lillian, Lee, Caleb, Faylynn, Izzy, Colton, and the twins Harris and Barren.
Keville's passion for dancing ignited at the tender age of 12, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever be treasured by his loved ones.
Keville Ray Turner passed away on March 8th 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
