Joyce Ann (Pruitt) Sears

Joyce Ann Pruitt Sears, previously Pierce, born October 3, 1942, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on September 24, 2025, at the age of 82. She passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by love and the enduring legacy of a life well lived.

Joyce was the beloved daughter of Junior Lee Pruitt and Ethel Mae Belue. A woman of quiet strength and deep compassion, she devoted her life to her family and those fortunate enough to know her. Her warm spirit, sharp wit, and unwavering kindness left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.

She is survived by her cherished son, Virgil Eugene Pierce, and her adored grandchildren: Quentin Pierce, Joshua Pierce, Tyler Pierce, Brittany Lawson, and Kevin Lawson. She was also the loving mother of Donna Lawson, who preceded her in death. Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments, always offering encouragement and unconditional support.

Joyce’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her loved ones, in the values she passed down, and in the countless memories that will be treasured forever.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in her memory—just as Joyce lived every day with grace, generosity, and love.
