Joyce Larson, 79, was called to her heavenly place on June 20 2021, at Pardee Hospital after her battle with cancer.
Mrs. Larson was born on 11th of February, 1942 in Watertown, New York to Charles and Dorothy Steele. She had very humble beginnings with her three siblings while living in a farmhouse. She was predeceased by her parents, brother, Leroy Steele and sister, Doris Lane.
She is survived by her son James Rabb and his fiancé Theresa Bradby; sister, Virginia Davidson and husband Glen; sister in law, Josephine Steele, and their children; her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also her very close friend and confidant Michael Eberhardt who has been there for her through this illness.
In her life, she had a heart of gold and an appreciation for the outdoors along with a great love for animals. She also loved a nice ride in the country from time to time. In her working years she always put in a hard day’s labor with any kind of job she had and also made time to be involved with the Civil Air Patrol. Even in retirement, she still loved to stay busy by doing volunteer work such as security at the courthouse, fingerprinting at the Sheriff’s office, serving meals at the Sammy Williams Center, and delivering meals on wheels.
The memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Berkeley Park on 69 Balfour Road in Hendersonville behind the Balfour Baptist Church.
