It is with painful, heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mightily beloved and forever cherished John Murray Lynn, Esq 77 on November 9, 2024, at Upstate Community Hospice House following a very brief illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lt. Col. Winfred E. Lynn, Mrs. Louise Lynn, and one brother, Robert Lynn.
John is survived by his loving wife, Ann, of 38 years, three children, John Michael (Ann), Lara (Duffy), Teresa (Charlie), and a stepdaughter, Heather (Tony), seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
John practiced law in Homestead, Florida for more than 40 years, continuing for some time post retirement.
He was an avid and exceptional golfer, a sharpshooter, and a renowned Expert Everglades Back Country Navigator and fisherman. John and his close buddies spent every Snook Season in a feverish state on a boat in search of those “monster beauties”, celebrating their limit with fine wine and caviar.
In 2016 John and Ann retired to their NC farm where John found such happiness that he would often say, “I only wish I could have another lifetime to enjoy this place”!
John will be fondly remembered and sorrowfully missed by all who knew him as the epitome of a devout gentleman with a quick wit, enviable sense of humor, an exceptionally kind, loving, and charitable heart. As one of his closest buddies said, “John will be missed, missed, and missed”
Private Memorial Services will be held at later dates, both in Florida and North Carolina.
