John Wesley Daniels

John Wesley Daniels of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away on Saturday, January 18, surrounded by loved ones. 

He was born on September 27, 1949, in Jarvisburg, NC. He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Draughon Daniels, his father, Hal Daniels, as well as his sister, Laura Daniels-McKnight.  

John is survived by his loving wife Gigi Daniels of Rutherfordton, daughters April Baucom (Shane) of Monroe, Amie Medlin (Ryan), and one grandson, Christian Baucom.

John was a plumbing and general contractor, who owned and operated Daniels Plumbing of Wingate. He also enjoyed his time working at The Treasure Chest of Monroe, creating and repairing jewelry, and was often found assisting in running a restaurant with a friend in Monroe. After retiring, he continued to work at Direct Line Communications, operating the heavy equipment he always enjoyed so much. 

John loved visiting the Outer Banks where he grew up, boating, fishing, driving on the beach, and listening to his favorite music.  He also fell in love with the mountains, and truly enjoyed the fall leaves, the lake, the beautiful snow, and simply riding around and enjoying all that nature has to offer. 

He was always described as "fun" and was known as quite a jokester.  John was truly one of a kind and there will never be another quite like him.
