Jerry Howard Tyner

Jerry Howard Tyner age 73 of Mill Spring, NC passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at the Landrum Hospice House.

 Born in Cheraw, SC, on June 8, 1950, he was a son of the late Roy Tyner and Inez Tyner.

Mr. Tyner was the loving husband to Emily Ruth Tyner.  He and Mrs. Tyner shared a marriage of 55 years, they were high school sweethearts and married the same year after graduation 1968.  Mr. Tyner served 24 years in the United States Air Force and after retiring, he served 18 years with NC Department of Transportation at the Columbus, NC office.

Survivors include his children, Julie Michelle Tyner, Lisa Paige Morse (Brian), Jerry Brett Tyner, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by brothers, William Frank Tyner, Roy Tyner, Jr., Joseph Henry Tyner, and sister, Beverly Ann Tyner Keadle.

Funeral services will be 2PM Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Faith Baptist Church in Mill Spring with Rev. Allen McKinney officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be 7-8 PM Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Sanders Funeral Home, 80 Park Street in Columbus, NC.

Pallbearers will be Brian Morse, Brett Tyner, Joe Tyner, Jerry Kibling, Jim Keadle, and Dale Carrington.
