James Pritchard Freck, Jr.

James Pritchard Freck, Jr. age 81, of Columbus, NC passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Elizabeth House.

Jim was an Air Force Veteran during Vietnam and later retired from the railroad. Jim spent most of his retirement going for long rides and working on the jeep he loved, and fishing near his home in Lake Lure.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James P. Freck Sr and Margaret Annabel Freck; a sister, Margie Freeman.

Left to cherish his memory is a son, Glenn Freck and his wife, Johnnie Sue Freck of Columbus; a brother, Bobby Freck of Lake Lure; grandchildren, Tom Freck of Michigan, Ryan Freck of Arden, and Jessica Richie of Michigan; a great granddaughter, Maelynn Gurnick of Michigan, and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Jim's Life will be 2 pm. Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Sanders Funeral Home Chapel.
