Gale Forster Phillips

On June 10, 2020, Gale Forster Phillips (age 72) of Mill Spring, NC passed away peacefully in the arms of her husband and children. Gale was born to Paul R. Forster and Dorotha (Hartman) Forster on May 19, 1948 in Syracuse, NY. Gale graduated Cazenovia High School in 1966. She was an outstanding student, prom queen, cheerleading captain, and very well liked.

She attended Oswego State College. In 1969, Gale spent several months hiking through Europe and then enrolled at the SUNY ag and tech college in Morrisville, NY.  After graduation, Randy proposed and so started a beautiful 48-year marriage.

Gale and Randy spent 37 years of their life together in Cazenovia, NY. It was here where she was a faithful Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church and raised her two children. She worked hard in banking and insurance throughout her life. After retiring at the age of 67, she moved with Randy to western NC, an area she loved for its beauty and friendly people. Gale enjoyed gardening, family, her dogs, and just being an angel.

Gale was a devoted wife, mother, and friend to many. Gale is survived by her husband Randall; children Jason (Susan) Phillips and Seasson (Peter) Vitiello; brother Paul (Wanda) Forster; and granddaughters Anna and Renee Vitiello. Her enduring compassionate heart and strong faith in God continues to comfort her family. 

On Saturday, June 20 at 11am, the Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Mill Spring will host a celebration of her life. All friends and family are invited to attend.
