Frederick Emde Placak, Jr.

Frederick E. "Rick" Placak, Jr. age 78 of Columbus, NC passed away September 21, 2022.

Rick was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Fred and Margaret (Peg) Placak. Rick was a graduate of Christ School, Wofford College and served in the U.S. Army. His professional career span 50 years as a residential realtor and appraiser, incorporating the business, Village Properties and Appraisal Services, in 1989.

Rick is survived by wife, Judy, sons Phillip Placak (Kerby), David Blanton (Stephanie), three grandchildren, sister, Carolyn Nemrow and several neices and nephews.

Services will be private.

Family requests that memorials be sent to Foothills Humane Society or Lennies Kids.

The following written by Stephen Grellet, was the creed by which Rick lived his life: "I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."
