Edith Case Obituary

It is with a sad heart, that we announce the passing of the patriarch of our family, known to most people as “Grandma”. Edith Case passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones Saturday, September 4, 2021 after an unexpected illness.

Edith was born December 15, 1932 in Polk County, NC  to Jerry and Eva Lanning. She was a mother to 5 wonderful little girls, Frances, Judith, Vicki, Nancy and Lisa. She worked with Hatch Milliken until she retired to spend time with her grandchildren, Kathy, Keith, Samantha, Amber, Candy, Megan, Travis, Shelley, Brian, and Memphis. She was a one of a kind woman and treasured her family. She was blessed with many great grandchildren, Dylan, Robbie, Landen, Trenton, Carmen, JJ, Wesley, Maddie, Addie, as well as great great grandchildren, Baylie, Keegan, Ruthie, Kamryn, and Declan. There aren’t words to say how amazing this woman really was. A hero to most and now an angel to all. Edith taught us many things, just not how to live without her. Edith did not want a service or funeral. Most who knew her knew how stubborn and hard headed she could be. She touched many lives in her decades with us and leaves an incredibly large void in all of our lives. A grandma, a friend, and now an angel.
