The family of Dr. Joseph V. Picone II of Tryon, NC is saddened to announce his passing on June 13, 2022.
He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
He was born to the late Joseph Vincent Picone and Frances B. Intravartolo on June 5, 1958, in New Brunswick, NJ. He married Kathy J. Tarchinski on August 14, 1982.
Joe was the owner of Foothills Wellness Center, where he specialized in Chiropractic, Sports Medicine, and Enzyme Therapy. There he worked with his wife, daughter, and at least one dog for the last 17 years. Previously, he spent 20 years in Miami, FL where he had another successful practice and worked with many professional athletes. He chose to move to Western North Carolina to raise his family in a small and beautiful community that he loved to be a part of.
Joe had many interests in life that brought him so much joy. He loved to cook and entertain, play golf, tinker around his farm, and took up deer hunting. His true happiness was always when he spent it with his family and when he would breed and train his German Shepherds.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathy of 40 years; daughters, Taylor (Justin) Cates and Ally Picone; his brother, Thomas (Judy) Picone; sisters Jo Ann (Jeff) Wolfe, and Mary Lou Picone; grandchildren Cole and Flynn Cates. He will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, friends he's made through the years, people of the community, and his German Shepherd family.
Both a Funeral service and Celebration of life will be held on July 16th. The service will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 11 am. The Celebration of life will be held afterwards at Caitlin Farms at 12:30. Friends and Family are welcome to attend one or both events
