Clyde Vance, Jr. (Big Eddie) of Rutherfordton passed away Sunday, August 7th, at his home. Clyde was born October 16, 1965, at Rutherfordton Hospital. Clyde is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Justine (Roy) Haynes and his father, Clyde Vance, Sr, his sister, Teresa Vance Greene, and several other family members.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Tabitha (Nigel) White, Nina Vance (Jeremy Holland), Brittney Vance (Jeremy Hawkins), Eddie Vance (Melissa Holden); his beautiful grandchildren, Roy Vance, Shannon and Autumn Murray, Adelyn White, Marley, Connor Raylan, Swayer, Braiden and Lawson Cole; his sister, Crystal (Scott) Ferree; and several nieces and nephews.
Clyde was very intelligent and could solve any math problem off the top of his head. He loved listening to music while outside on his porch. He was a great Dad and friend to many. His door and arms were always open to anyone whether he knew you or not.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Monday, August 15th at the Union Mills Community Family Wellness Park Learning Center (Old Union Mills School) beginning at 5pm.
