Carolyn Beatrice (Howard) Price

Carolyn Beatrice Price, age 73, of Horseshoe, North Carolina, died peacefully and went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2022.

Carolyn was born in Asheville on St. Patrick’s Day March 17, 1949, to the late Belva Bradley Howard who died in 2014 and Esley Howard who died in 1981. She was a lifelong resident of Western North Carolina, and worked as a nurse assistant at Fleshers Fairview Health Care and also for private in-home care clients. She and Herman Price married July of 1966 and they recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.

Loving wife, mother of two children and grandmother of six, she enjoyed being at home in the mountains, loved country music, spending time with her family, and her pets over the years.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters Linda Haynes of Asheville who died in 2019 and Sally Smeltzer of Asheville who died in 2021.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 56 years, Herman Price, her son Robert James Price and his wife Christine of Fairview, NC and daughter Patty Dorendia King and husband Franklin of Horseshoe; her siblings J. B. Howard and his wife Brenda of Lincolnton, NC, Billy Howard of Fletcher, Bruce Howard of Asheville, Nancy Howard of Asheville, David Howard and wife Gail of TN; her grandchildren Kyla Alexandria Gibson of Pickens, SC,  Emily Grace Leon of Cullowhee, NC, Isaiah Christian Huerta of Horseshoe,  Madeline Price, Isabella Price, Faeryn Shields and Zachary Mason of Fairview; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held at a later date.
