Barbara Ann Rademaker

Barbara Ann Rademaker, 86, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on July 19th in Columbus, NC.

Barbara will be interred alongside her husband Leonard at the columbarium located at Tryon Estates where she lived the past 10-years.

Barbara was born in Brooklyn, NY to Reidar and Genevieve Stenberg on December 20, 1936.  She went to school at Bay Ridge HS.  She married Leonard Rademaker on May 12, 1956, in Brooklyn. She worked as a legal secretary on Wall Street for many years prior to having children. She was involved in many churches over her life and sang in the choir in all of them.  She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family with tremendous vitality.   

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her son John, and her husband Leonard. 

Barbara is survived by her son Paul Rademaker and his wife Dawn, her 6 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.  

The family of Barbara Rademaker wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her friends at Tryon Estates who loved her and supported her all these years, to the workers at their medical facility, the staff at Advent Health and St. Lukes Hospital, and anyone kind enough to spend the time to engage in conversations with her. The life of a widowed person is challenging; having someone there to listen and love is vitally important, thank you to everyone who did. Jesus said when you did these things to the lest of them, you also did it for me.
