Mary Elizabeth “Sissy” Dowda age 61 of Landrum, SC went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 1, 2018. Born in Spartanburg County to the late Earnest Luther Dowda and Dorothy B. Dowda of Landrum.

Mary was a former employee of Ingles in Landrum, and a member of Redeemed Baptist Church. She loved her church family, her family members and friends. She will surely miss her life long friend, Brenda Fowler.

Survivors include her mother, Dorothy B. Dowda; sisters, Marie Horton (Mike) and Martha Dowda; 12 nieces and nephews, Michelle Burns (Jay), Amanda Hughes (Tommy), Russell Mitchell (Jessica), Heather Wooten (Tommy), Ashley Cox (Cassey), and Phillip Davis (Becca); 19 great nieces and nephews, Kaled, Jacob, Sabrina, Austin, Mackenzie, Makayla, Avery, Mikey, Andrew, Laela, Gavin,Aiden,Destiny, Matthew, Dalton, Mason, Gunner, Shylee and Owen.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, November 5, 2018 at Redeemed Baptist Church in Landrum with Rev. Jeremy Wood officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-2 PM Monday prior to the service.
