Kenneth Dale Brown, 84, of Columbus, N.C., passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, January 3, 2018 at Tryon Estates’ Willow Brooke Court. 

Born in Hutchinson, Kansas, he was the son of the late Franklin Lee Brown and Mary Thelma Huff Brown.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years Louise Mohn Brown, also of Tryon Estates.  Mr. Brown served four years in the U.S. Army and retired from a career in sales and advertising within the newspaper media.  Mr. Brown enjoyed painting and golf, especially in his retirement. 

In addition to his wife, surviving are an older brother, Don Brown, Popular Bluff, Missouri and seven children: Cindy McAfee, Little Rock, Arkansas; Becky Morton, Grandbury, Texas; Michael Brown, Dallas, Texas; Jay Brown, Smithfield, Utah; Walter Mohn, North Canton, Ohio; Sue Theis, Bourne, Texas; Carroll Mohn, Mill Spring, North Carolina.  Also surviving are many caring in the extended families.

Following Mr. Brown’s wishes a private memorial service will be held at a later time for the family.
