- James “Jim” Paul Haynes, age 72, of Rutherfordton passed away June 28, 2018 at Willow Ridge Rehabilitation & Living Center.

Born August 5, 1945 in Lincolnton, N.C. to the late Albert Haynes and Peggy Harrington, Mr. Haynes retired from Duke Energy, was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Marine Corp.

In addition to his parents Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by brothers Fred, Johnny and Jerry; and a sister Judy.

He is survived by his sons Daren (Debbie) Haynes, Josh Haynes; daughter Lisa (Stacey) Phipps; sister Frances (David) Rhyne; and grandchildren James M., Steven C., Daniel S., Eliana G., Molly, Ben, Brooklyn, and Taylor.

Graveside service with military honors will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday July 1, 2018 at McKendree United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lincolnton, N.C. with Rev Gregg Plott officiating.

Family will receive friends following the service in the church social hall.
