Alma Jane Dutton

Alma Jane Dutton age 81 of Columbus, NC passed away January 30, 2019.

 She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Florence Reshenberg. 

Alma was born in Charleroi, PA on December 21, 1937 and grew up in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from Garfield High School where she met her late husband, Dean Dutton.  Alma and Dean were married for 52 years and had three children, Dean Michael “Chip” Dutton of Dungannon, VA, Tracie (Curt) Conner of Columbus, NC and Jill Dutton of Jacksonville, FL and daughter-in-law Carol Dutton, Jacksonville, FL and their grandchildren Maggie and Andy Conner, Dean and Drew Dutton and Jake Donaldson. She has a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews in California and Washington and her sister-in-law Dolly Dutton in California. 

The family would like to thank Morgan Champion and Hannah Schlabach for their loving care of Alma in her final months.  

Alma enjoyed her work as a florist in both Ohio and Florida.  She loved to entertain her family and friends who will greatly miss her from Ohio to Florida to South Carolina.  Until we meet again… 

Alma’s wish was to be cremated.

 In memory of Alma, donations may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Road, Landrum, SC  29356 or  Meals on Wheels, an organization that she volunteered at weekly with her good friend Roseanne Soltau.  419 E Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29302.
